Interesting. Made me think about the different business models in MMO’s and how they function to make profit. Micro Transactions to me make the most sense, monthly subscriptions can work but only if the game is addictive enough: WoW and APB (R.I.P) were for me. Other than that im really not sure how Guild Wars intends to be profitable, long dev cycle and no subscriptions. I realise its going to be instance based but given the crowd it hopes to attract im not sure how it will sustain on no regular income.
